This Games Court provides formal markings for basketball, netball and volleyball professional association and social games. The area also provides a social games area for recess and lunch breaks. Handball, newcomeball, tennis, shuttlecock and tabloid games can be played on this area and planning in regards to student numbers and types of activities will be required to ensure student safety. The area can support focussed explicit teaching and demonstrations activities that require an exterior setting. Although not its prime purpose, the durable surface space also supports activities that encourage individual to very large groups to explore, investigate, create, fabricate and construct with consideration being given to the transport of materials for these activities. Depending on the type of activity, small to very large groups can participate in rehearse and perform activities.
FURTHER OPPORTUNITIES
Professional association access for training and scheduled out of school hour games can provide some benefits to the school and the community. A high roofed, Covered Outdoor Learning Area covering this area would also provide sun and wet weather protection for students playing on this area.
LEARNING IMPLICATIONS
Consideration would need to be given to safety, acoustic and spatial implications depending on the number of groups, types of learning activities planned and proximity to activities occurring in the Hall and Home Base areas. The Games Court is not suitable for research, reflective, discussion, reading, and storytelling activities.

Ratings against the Design Criteria

All criteria regarding spatial layout, fit-out, visibility and acoustics can be met.

Most criteria regarding spatial layout, fit-out, visibility and acoustics can be met. Some consideration will need to be given to determine whether constraints on ease of use, group size or materials will compromise the learning outcomes.

Few of the criteria regarding spatial layout, fit-out, visibility and acoustics can be met. A lot of consideration will need to be given to determine how the constraints on ease of use, group size or materials can be overcome.

Very few of the criteria regarding spatial layout, fit-out, visibility and acoustics can be met. This space should only be used for this learning mode as a last resort.

This space is incapable of supporting this learning mode.

This learning process is not employed with this size group.
