3.2 Bench Tops Fabrication 
 
GUIDE NOTE: Refer to SG / JOINERY.
Delete BENCH TOPS fabrication nominated in NATSPEC Building Template and include the following.


Bench tops
Thickness: 1.2mm

Wet bench perimeter: Except at wall flashing, provide a raised bead, with fascia.

  • 450 splayed bead 20mm high, 25mm wide.

Fascia
Fascia height: 50mm (nominal)

Fascia return: 15mm, returned to underside of bench top, form a complete seal.

Bench surface support and sound deadening
Type: 32mm sealed HMR particleboard, continuous, adhesive fixed to underside of bench top and aluminium zinc coated steel sheet backing to underside of particleboard, sealed at edges.

Underside facing
Aluminium zinc coated steel sheet.

Fabrication
The complete bench top (including HMR particleboard core) is to be fabricated off-site.

The aluminium zinc coated steel backing sheet is not to come in direct contact with stainless steel.
