Signs

• Appropriate signage is required to identify the school, elements within the school and to assist students and visitors in finding their way about the school.
• Statutory Signage is also required by building regulations, including the Building Code of Australia and the National Construction Code (BCA/NCC), to provide advice or direct occupants to specific  function areas. Statutory Signage  include, universal braille and tactile signs to toilets, directional signs to lifts and signage to entertainment venues. All statutory signage is to be provided and installed to meet the requirements of the current building regulations.
• Signage is also to be provided to doors of services plant spaces such as electrical cupboards, communications cupboards, fire indicator panels and the main switch room.
• Provide signage at the entrance of the site to indicate the location of the main electrical switch room and main fire panel, if not immediately obvious. Signs are to be attached in appropriate highly visible locations.
•  Provide signage to direct visitors to the school Administration Offices
• Securely screw or bolt-fix signs to a solid base.
• Ensure a strong contrast between lettering colour and background for best visibility. (minimum 30% light reflectance is recommended to enable visibility)

Location

• Adjacent to the car park and in a relevant position near the front of the school to assist visitors in finding their way to the Administration; or
• Inside the school fence along the main entry path/pedestrian access to the Administration; or
• On the Administration front wall if close to the main Entrance Zone; or
• Located near the main car park (site specific)
