Termite Control
Refer to SG / TERMITE MANAGEMENT for paving next or close to buildings where termite barriers have been installed.

Base course material
GUIDE NOTE:  The following applies to asphaltic concrete for Games Courts only.  
(i) Normally deep lift asphaltic concrete or in some circumstances fine graded crushed rock with a minimum depth of 100mm
(ii)  Type and thickness depends on quality of sub base and/or sub grade.  Consult with engineer for project specific requirements.
(iii) Subbase: Normally fine graded crushed rock.  Consult with engineer for project specific requirements.
 
GUIDE NOTE:  Subgrade drainage may be required on the “Cut” side of the Games Court.  Include subsoil drainage in the stormwater section of the Specification. 
 

Bituminous Paving
Proposed job mix:

GUIDE NOTE:  Consult with engineer if mix listed below is suitable for project specific requirements (in some locations a weaker mix may be acceptable). 
 

Asphalt surfacing schedule
Games court surface courses:

  • 25 mm thick levelling course (AC10) (between base and surface course) 
  • 25 mm thick surface course (AC5)
