Covered Outdoor Learning Areas (COLAs) are sheltered outdoor areas used for a variety of learning and recreational purposes. Consideration should be given as to how these should be distributed around the site. These areas tend to be used for informal and/or social learning activities, particularly as an extension to other learning units. During recess and lunch these shelters provide students protection from the sun and rain.
